Since 1992, Discover California! at 114 J Street in Old Sacramento has carried one of the largest selections of California foods and award-winning wines in the state. Owner Vickie Allen recently expanded the business by opening Sacramento's only underground wine bar.

Located below the popular retail store, the 2,000 sq. ft. subterranean wine bar features 100 different California wines and 27 varietals from the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma to the quaint wineries in the foothills of the Sierras.


"California wines are world renowned for their quality, diversity and variety," said Allen. "Since we officially opened in April, wine enthusiasts across the state have been raising their glasses and toasting the historic district's only wine bar as they 'tour' Northern California wineries all in one convenient location."
